Mark A. Davis, a principal of Kravitz Davis Sansone, the Registered Investment Advisory affiliate of Kravitz, currently serves as Investment Services Manager.
Mark is a Registered Investment Advisor working with approximately $1,200,000,000 in qualified retirement plan assets. He is considered one of our nation's most knowledgeable retirement plan financial advisors. Mark is sought after as a speaker at pension conferences and serves as host for PlanSponsor magazine's web cast series "Plugged In," and is a regular teacher at Sungard's Advanced Pension Conferences. He recently testified before the Department of Labor's ERISA Advisory Council as to the adequacy (or inadequacy) of fee disclosure to retirement plan sponsors and has helped the General Accountability Office and House Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor & Pensions to understand issues surrounding the pricing of retirement plan services.
His views have been quoted in many publications, most recently the New York Times, Boston Globe, USA Today and Plan Sponsor Magazine. Mark was Co-Chair of the 2003, 2004 and 2005 American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries 401(k) SUMMITs. Mark has earned the ACCREDITED INVESTMENT FIDUCIARY™ (AIF™) designation awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh.
A 17 year veteran of the defined contribution industry, Mark began his financial services career writing communications and education materials for clients of Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Co (FIRSCo). Mark left Fidelity in 1994 to establish the Education arm of Charles Schwab & Co.'s Retirement Plan Services team.
In an earlier life, Mark was a professional actor and director and served on the faculties of Amherst and Mt. Holyoke Colleges. He has a B.A. (cum laude) from Amherst College in Amherst, MA. Mark is married with two children and lives in Thousand Oaks, CA.
